Salary: £54,210 - £58,147 per annum (SCP 42-45)
Contract: Permanent
Work pattern: 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday
Location: Agile Home Based / Wheatley House

Wheatley Group is looking for a talented and motivated Development Co-ordinator to join our award-winning affordable housing development team. As Scotland’s leading housing, care, and property-management group, we are committed to delivering thousands of new affordable homes across the country. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in our ambitious regeneration and investment programme.

About the role

You will be responsible for managing large-scale housing construction projects from initial site appraisal through to the award of construction contract.

Working as part of our Glasgow development team, the post is expected to focus on delivery of high-quality regeneration and new-build projects.

You will work closely with internal teams, local authorities, and external partners to ensure our projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate will be a great team player, have a positive attitude and a willingness to embrace a vibrant and fast-paced working environment whilst showing accountability for their project from beginning to end.

Key requirements:

Experience:

  • proven track record in delivering major affordable new-build housing or construction projects;
  • management of multi-disciplinary design teams and external consultants to obtain statutory consent and meet cost and programme requirements;
  • co-ordination of input from community and stakeholders across partner organisations; and
  • worked closely with Local Authorities to deliver shared strategic goals and outcomes.

Technical skills:

  • strong understanding of RSL (Registered Social Landlord) development finance, appraisals, and cost planning;
  • ability to engage in acquisition of property and instruct construction related contracts;
  • capable of undertaking procurement and tendering of consultancy services and main works contractors; and
  • excellent communicator.
