Councillor George Paul A new £2.3 million centre which provides a first point of call for customers at risk of homelessness has officially opened in Blackburn, West Lothian.

A consultation has been launched on plans to build 117 new homes in Livingston. West Lothian Council is inviting the public to submit their views on the Deans South redevelopment project.

The first properties at Scotland's largest council housing development have been completed. West Lothian Council is building 1,000 new council homes across the county as part of a £111 million investment.

A new West Lothian Council housing development has been completed in Bathgate. The homes on the site of a former pub at Glasgow Road form part of the local authority’s new house building programme, which will see 1,000 new homes built by 2017 across each of the nine council wards.

Work has started on a new council housing development being built on the former Lammermuir office block site in the centre of Livingston. Work is currently underway to develop new council homes in West Lothian. A mixture of 40 new cottage flats, bungalows and houses are being developed by Lovell at Eastfield in Fauldhouse.

McTaggart Construction has developed five new council homes near Linlithgow in West Lothian. The contractor built the new bungalows designed for tenants with mobility issues adjacent to the Community Centre in Bridgend, the first council homes to be built in the area since 1969.

Work has begun on a number of new West Lothian Council homes in East Calder. The project at Raw Holdings includes the construction of twelve cottage flats, one two-bedroom house and two bungalows. The homes are expected be completed by next spring.

Building work has started in Livingston where 20 new homes are being built for West Lothian Council. A total of eight one-bedroom cottage flats and 12 two-bedroom cottage flats will be built by Lovell at Almond Link Road.

West Lothian Council will spend over £109 million over the next two years improving and increasing its council housing stock. Approved at a meeting of the council executive last week, the investment will see over £76m spent on building new council houses.
