Affordable housebuilder Springfield Partnerships has submitted plans to build 85 new affordable homes in Whitburn, West Lothian. The brownfield site, near Dixon Terrace, has lain neglected for a number of years.

East Lothian Council yesterday agreed a budget which includes an £85 million housing investment as West Lothian Council became the fourth local authority to announce a voluntarily freeze of the basic rate of Council Tax.

The first properties at Scotland's largest council housing development have been completed. West Lothian Council is building 1,000 new council homes across the county as part of a £111 million investment.

A new West Lothian Council housing development has been completed in Bathgate. The homes on the site of a former pub at Glasgow Road form part of the local authority’s new house building programme, which will see 1,000 new homes built by 2017 across each of the nine council wards.

McTaggart Construction has developed five new council homes near Linlithgow in West Lothian. The contractor built the new bungalows designed for tenants with mobility issues adjacent to the Community Centre in Bridgend, the first council homes to be built in the area since 1969.

Work has begun on a number of new West Lothian Council homes in East Calder. The project at Raw Holdings includes the construction of twelve cottage flats, one two-bedroom house and two bungalows. The homes are expected be completed by next spring.
