Aberdeenshire’s Proposed Local Development Plan has now been published and is available for public comment until May 8. It represents the “settled view” of Aberdeenshire Council and identifies sites for development and the policies to be used when making decisions on planning applications.

Aberdeenshire Council has agreed a new strategy for the provision of sites for the travelling community. Aberdeenshire already has a permanent site at Greenbanks in Banff, but a recent report has argued for more in north, south and central Aberdeenshire.

School buildings in a north east town could be demolished to make way for housing and office space. Aberdeenshire Council is considering turning parts of the current Ellon Academy site into housing while also developing offices, according to the Evening Express.
